“Let’s start the year right”, said Hon. Florante C. Pascual, CPA Municipal Mayor, Lal-lo, Cagayan during the celebration of the 2nd LGU day held last January 2, 2014 at the Lal-lo Multi-Purpose Hall with the theme, “United LGU for Excellent Delivery of Services”.
The day commenced with a commemorative mass officiated by the Parish Priest of Sto. Domingo Parish, Rev. Fr. Nathaniel Malana. The Staff Conference was held immediately after the mass presided by Mayor Pascual which was actively participated by all employees of each department. It was intended to gather ideas to increase the productivity of employees and ultimately, to improve the delivery f basic services in line with this year’s theme.
A raffle draw was done in between the staff conference wherein each employee was able to receive prizes which included cell cards, wall clock, flat iron and stand fan as minor prizes. For the major prizes, RNHeals Ranita Radovan was able to take home the 3rd prize which was a Fukuda Water Dispenser, Ms. Katrina Cabayan, Municipal Health Office (MHO) staff, took home the 2nd prize which as a single tub washing machine, and Mr. Virgilio Cornejo, Municipal Treasurer’s Office (MTO) Staff luckily got the 1st prize, an LG 24” flat screen TV.
To wrap up the celebration, a variety show was held at the Lal-lo National High School Gymnasium which showcased local talents like Tribung Maxingal, GMovers, Musika Siguiran Productions and the LGU Dance Troupe. Said show was co-sponsored by Globe and Republika ng TM. They brought to the event the Emilys Band, Ms. Maui Taylor and Ms. Katya Santos who generously shared their time and talent to bring joy to the Lal-loqueños.
Indeed, the 2nd LGU day was a success and was a very good way to start the year right. It served as a means of creating camaraderie between the officials and the employees and among the employees themselves.
