This activity emerged through the joint efforts of Center for Health Development-Cagayan Valley (CHD-CV) with the end in view of re-acquainting the CHT partners in the proper filing up of forms.
Mrs. Ofelia A. Soriano, DOH Representative, served as the resource speaker during said undertaking. Also present were Rural Health Midwives (RHM), Millennium Development Goal (MDG) Nurses, and Dra. Maria Concepcion B. Abbang, the Municipal Health Officer of Lal-lo.
The organization of Community Health Teams is in line with the Universal Health Care (UHC) Program of President Aquino which is a “focused approach to health implementation ensuring that all Filipinos especially the poor receive the benefits of health reform.” Each Community Health Team is composed of Rural Health Midwife, Barangay Chairman, Barangay Health Worker, Barangay Committee Chairman on Health, & Community volunteers.
CHTs are tasked to help especially the poorest families as identified by the Department of Social Welfare and Development in the NHTS including those covered by Pantawid Pamilya. They conduct door to door visit to families who are 4Ps beneficiaries. This aims to link these families to social service providers, provide critical social services when needed and deliver key health messages.
