The Local Government Unit of Lal-lo, in partnership with Cagayan State University (CSU) Lal-lo Campus, agreed to conduct review classes for the Civil Service Career (Professional and Sub-professional) Examination. Target participants are LGU employees and interested Lal-lo residents who would take the said examination.
The Memorandum of Agreement was signed by Mayor Florante C. Pascual and Prof. Rogelio T. Tamayo, Campus Executive Officer of CSU Lal-lo, during the launching of the Manpower Capacity Development Program on September 4, 2014 at the Aladino M. Dupaya Sr. Gymnasium. The signing was witnessed by Board Member Maria Olivia B. Pascual, Vice-Mayor Florence Oliver B. Pascual, Kag. Florante P. Paat, Kag. Jamaica Indira Israel, and Kag. Henry L. Jose.
The activity is part of the LGU’s Human Resource Development and Management program to provide the participants a chance to earn an eligibility to work in government.
For the October 2014 examination, review classes are conducted every Thursday at 3:30 to 5:00 PM and Saturday at 8:00 to 11:30 AM and 1:00 to 4:30 PM. It commenced on September 6 and would end on October 19, 2014, a week before the administration of the examination. CSU Lal-lo faculty handle the classes which cover the areas to be tested.
In his welcome and opening remarks, Vice-Mayor Florence Oliver B. Pascual commented that LGU Lal-lo “would make every means to help the Lal-loqueno enable himself or herself to get a job after college graduation.
Moreover, Vice-Mayor Pascual motivated the reviewees to exert effort to pass as Mayor Anteng, BM Olive, and himself will award cash incentive to the top 6 scorers who passed the examination among them. The topnotcher in the batch of reviewees will receive Php5,000.00 while the next five will receive Php3,000.00 each.
Aside from the review, the LGU provided free transportation, meals (breakfast and lunch) and snacks to the examinees on the day of the exam.
Lotis Ann Bartolome, one of the reviewees, promised that they would do their best. She thanked LGU Lal-lo, particularly Mayor Anteng, for this innovative assistance in ensuring that they realize their dream to get employed in government.#
