Due to its exemplary performance in the implementation of its Ecological Solid Waste Management and Nutrition program, the municipality of Lal-lo, Cagayan is now a favorite place to visit by other LGUs in the region.
This was proven once again when the municipality of Aritao, Nueva Viscaya visited the town last September 26,2013 to observe the actual implementation of said programs. The cross-visits was the fourth by an LGU. The municipality of Sta. Ana, Camalaniugan and Baggao all from the province of Cagayan did the same visit the past years.
The bulk of the group were Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) from the different barangays of the town of Aritao and was headed by their Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Officer (MENRO) and Municipal Nutrition Action Officer (MNAO) Designate. They were later welcomed upon arrival at the Sta. Maria South Central School by LGU personnel and school teachers headed by the MENRO, the OIC Principal of Sta. Maria Central School and a staff of the MNAO. After which, the MENRO briefed them about the Lal-lo Against Waste In any form Now (LAWIN) project and its supporting programs and activities like eco-savers program, the balik bayong ang lal-lo program, the no segregation no collection policy, the karayan patrol etc. while observing the actual implementation of the Eco-savers program. After the short briefing, the group toured the school campus and observed their good practices on clean and green program as well as nutrition practices in school.
The group later proceeded to the municipal hall specifically at the Municipal Nutrition Office where they were also briefed by Ms. Mary ann Maniling on the nutrition program of the municipality. They also got the chance to visit the community radio where they were warmly welcomed by the station manager.
After their short but worth remembering visit in the municipality, the group departed back at their official station at 5:30pm.
