This town takes pride as it unveiled its Christmas Village Year 2, dubbed as “Fascinating Christmas Panorama” at the Aladino M. Dupaya, Sr. Gymnasium. Consisting of eight showcases, the village features miniature houses, parks, toys, dolls, and figurines, among others, which are the personal collections of Board Member Olive Pascual. It is recalled that last year, the theme of the Christmas Village was Christmas Around the World, dubbed as “A Christmas Story.”
Mayor Florante Pascual headed the simultaneous lighting of the trees and opening of Christmas Village. During the opening of the Fascinating Christmas Panorama, Dir. Blesida Diwa of the Department of Tourism Region 2, said the mini Christmas village of Lal-lo is the first municipality in the region that stages such artistic presentation.
Board Member Maria Olivia B. Pascual said the miniatures were her collection and some were from the collection of former Congresswoman Sally Enrile.
“This is not just a mere display of the collections, above all is the message of the essence of Christmas celebration which must be inculcated to the minds and hearts of everyone,” Pascual said.
BM Olive also mentioned that the panorama and the tree park are open for the public up to the first week of January.
The lady legislator and SP Health Committee Chair explained that viewing of the panorama is free but donation boxes are situated at the door where visitors may drop their donations to generate funds for the nutrition program of the municipality.
Gracing the activity were Gian Carlo Calubaquib, grandson of Governor Alvaro Antonio; Miss Erika Mae Castillejo, reigning Bb. Cagayan; Miss Darlene Batacan, Miss Lal-lo 2012; Mrs. Belen Lim, CPA, publisher of Northern Forum; and Mrs. Rhodora Maesre, Chair of the National Nutrition Council Region 02
