LGUL issues assistive facilities to PWD
In its continuous effort not just to deliver government services but also assistive efforts to the people, the Local Government Unit of Lal-lo through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office distributes assistive facilities to differently-abled persons or persons with disabilities in the municipality.
According to Mr. Santos B. Sunico, head of MSDWO, there are already 12 wheel chairs given to children and 24 to adults on the second year of the program. Eighteen canes and six crutches were also distributed.
He explained that availment of the devices follows a policy and procedure, and that beneficiaries should meet the requirements.
“As a policy, requesting party should be presenting at least one picture as a document or proof of the requested device to be attached to the intake sheet of the client,” he clarified.
Head Sunico also said that as part of the acknowledgement upon receiving the device, the grantee should take care of the item, and return it shall the person recovers or device will no longer be used.
“The device will be returned to the office if no longer used due to recovery or any cases making the devices of no use by the grantee, to give it other petitioner,” he ended. #jencolumna
