In relation with this, the Municipality of Lal-lo conducted a synchronized breastfeeding last July 3, 2013 at the Aladino M. Dupaya Sr. Sports Gymnasium with the Theme: “TI INA A LALLOQUENA, AGPASUSO TI ANAK NA TAPNU KINASALUN-AT KET MARAGPAT NA”. This was done during the celebration of the Nutrition Month 2013. The said program was participated by 362 lactating mothers from the different barangays of Lal-lo including the Barangay Health Workers and COMMUNITY HEALTH TEAMS (Municipal Health Officer, Nurses and Midwives).
While waiting for the other participants, the RNHeals together with the Midwives showcased their God-given hidden talents. By the time that everybody was settled, Ms. Faye Angela I. Bacuyag started the program with a solemn prayer with Ms. Christine Joyce A. Marquez who conducted the National Anthem. This was followed by the opening remarks of Mr. Aladino Dupaya Jr., Sangguniang Bayan member and the president of the Committee on Health. Dr. Ma. Concepcion B. Abbang our Municipal Health Officer was the one who gave the welcome address on the other hand, Ms. Kristine Michelle A. Tabaco, a registered nurse of the Rural Health Unit of Lal-lo whole heartedly shared her motherly experience in providing nutrition to her two (2) babies through exclusive breastfeeding that is recommended up to 6 months of age, with continued breastfeeding along with appropriate complementary foods up to two (2) years of age and beyond. According to her, the experience of breastfeeding is special for so many reasons – the joyful bonding with your baby, the cost savings, and the health benefits for both mother and baby.
After the heart whelming experience shared by Mrs. Tabaco, Honorable Board Member Ma. Olivia Bautista Pascual delivered her message pertaining to the said program. The crowd went wild when the Lal-lo National High School and the Maxingal Dancers entertained the participants with their special dance number. Henry Jose and Jamaica Israel councilors of the Municipality also attended the said event.
Mr. Rowland Bolando serenade the participants with his tremulous and soothing voice while Mr. Patrick Ian David was the master’s of the ceremony.
The overall goal of the event was to provide information to the Lalloquena Mothers about the importance of exclusive breastfeeding.
